The St. Petersburg International Film Festival is “Worldwide” (Mirovoy) is a large-scale cultural event that includes an international film competition, a Russian project competition (pitching), international out-of-competition screenings (non-fiction, experimental, animated films), special screenings of landmark films, Russian premieres, meet-the-artist session of world stars, workshops, round table meetings, ceremonies and other happenings. An important part of the festival is its educational program, which includes a scriptwriting workshop (public analysis of scripts of popular movies), master classes from film industry professionals and The Road to Life educational intensive film project for talented teenagers from Russian Federation subjects.
The festival competition program includes international competition of full-length fiction movies and national Eisenstein film awardbased on the results ofthe open project presentation of emerging filmmakers.
In the festival programs, the organizers seek to cover living traditions and modern innovations in cinematography of both large and small countries. As the Mirovoy IFF focuses on promoting dialogue of cultures and arts, film programs are made up of movies that illustrate the ongoing convergence, interaction and mutual influence of various types of art.
